These are the most common questions from the forum participants:

i. Is there any improvement done on the link chain used in the Continuous Sterilizer?

Answer:

Since 2008, Modipalm had further developed the strength of link chain with higher strength link chain size i.e. 16mm (which can last at least 1 year) and its latest development is 19mm that can easily last at least 2 years above when normal weekly maintenance is carried out. PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk and PT MGI have been using this link chain without much complaints over the last few years.

ii. Can you tell us about the comparison between batch processing and continuous sterilization system with regard to oil loss recovery?

Answer:

Most of Modipalm CS users confirmed that the percentage of oil loss recovery is at least 1% higher than the batch processing. As a result, it shall contribute to 1% higher in the OER.

iii. In the past, there was a question of doubt about whether the CS system can achieve its through-put as per design of the capacity of the palm oil mill. Has it been overcome right now?

Answer:

Presently, Modipalm is proud to introduce the first Double Deck Continuous Sterilizer for PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, Indonesia with the mill capacity of 45 TPH. The design concept was developed in 2008 and this first mill design of PT Astra Agro Lestary Tbk is namely PT Karya Nusa Eka Daya POM, was commissioned since December 2009. It has been consistently achieving through-put for about 45-50 TPH. The purpose of the Double Deck Continuous Sterilizer is to reduce the overall load on the chain system and enhance reliability.
